J. Rowling was writing the books as my children were of the same age, so it was an especially wonderful time. Anticipating the new books and movies… it was great.
The Harry Potter books can be credited with spawning an entire generation of readers. The books are well-written and the author invested heavily in her craft, a fact well in evidence as each new book revealed her steadily increasing skill and the benefits of her research. I have personally read the entire series of books multiple times and derived additional pleasure with each reading. I highly recommend them to all readers, adults and children.
